Prince George community comes together for Judy Russell & PGSO Christmas Show
PRINCE GEORGE, BC – Preparations have begun in earnest for Judy Russell & the Prince George Symphony Orchestra’s presentation of Elf – the Musical. Supported by the PG Symphony Orchestra, a local cast of over 50 talented actors of all ages will take to the Vanier Hall stage. This entertaining musical retelling of the beloved family Christmas movie will deliver heartfelt comedy and cheer in five performances from December 18 to 20.
The production has already received wide community support, led by two sponsors who are no strangers to supporting the community: Canadian Tire and Marcotte Law.
“Prince George is such a wonderful community,” said Selen Alpay, Canadian Tire owner and philanthropist. “And it’s local individuals like Judy Russell who help create these moments we can all take such pride in.”
Heading up the principal cast is Rory Polson as Buddy the Elf. He’ll be joined by Brielle Hamelin as Jovie, Scott Roberts as Walter Hobbs, Amanda Spurlock as Emily Hobbs, Leo Summer as Michael Hobbs, Gil Botelho as Mr. Greenway, Sharon McDermott as Deb, and Gary Chappel as Santa. They will be led by Director Judy Russell, Music Director Robin Norman, Conductor Michael Hall, and Assistant Director Shelby Meaney - the same team responsible for 2024’s amazing production of Sweeney Todd and the perennial The Nutcracker.
“We’re so excited to be involved again with Judy and the PGSO,” said Cindy Marcotte, of Marcotte Law, “We are very proud of our long relationship with these two excellent organizations and the incredible shows they put on – we’re sure Elf will be no exception!”
The production is also being supported by Russell AV, Pattison Media Group, Northern Spirit Transportation, Artemis Gold Inc. – Blackwater Mine, the Prince George Citizen, and Workforce Development Consulting Services North.
Tickets are selling briskly, available online at tickets.pgso.com or at the PGSO Box Office, 2880 15th Ave (Monday to Thursday 10-3, or by appointment).
