FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Elf – The Musical tap dances into Prince George this holiday season! Brought to you by the team behind Prince George’s beloved The Nutcracker and 2024’s audacious Sweeney Todd, the show promises bundles of laughs and bags of Christmas cheer for the whole family.
“We’re so delighted to be able to share this jubilant show with the community,” said Judy Russell, “We think it will be a perfect way to share time with the family at Christmas.”
The show, based on the hit 2003 movie about a human child raised as an elf at the North Pole, is a feel-good story about finding family at Christmas, told with humour, dance, and music. The 2024 Broadway revival of the show drew reviews such as “pure joy that’s fun for the whole family” (The New York Sun) and “really elfin’ good!” (Time Out).
Both Russell and the PGSO have a long history of drawing on amazing local talent, and Elf – The Musical will be no exception. The performance will feature around thirty local artists on stage as well as the Prince George Symphony Orchestra. The production is also fortunate to have Musical Director, Robyn Norman sharing her talents.
“How lovely to share such a great story,” said Michael Hall, Music Director of the PGSO, “It’s always a highlight of our season to work with Judy and her amazing team – it’s going to be a wonderful show!”
The show will run for five performances in three days, starting on Friday, December 18 at Vanier Hall. Tickets go on sale October 1 through the PGSO box office at 2880 15th Avenue and online at tickets.pgso.com.
Elf – The Musical is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com
