Abruptly silenced by COVID-19, the PGSO refuses to end the season on a sour note. The Board and the Administration continue to meet and work virtually while seventeen of our musicians have engaged in a first-ever virtual production, a hymn from Jupiter from the Planets by Gustav Holst. Jupiter, the fourth movement, was the Bringer of Jollity. Hopefully this offering will bring some cheer into your world. It is posted on the PGSO website and social media. Click here to watch the virtual production of a hymn from Jupiter from the Planets by Gustav Holst – it is a thank you for your loyalty and support.
Our focus now is the assembly of a stellar season for our upcoming 50th Anniversary. It will be a wonderful opportunity for you to meet many of the participants in our organization’s history. You will be regaled by a new composition created for our 50th Anniversary by one of our own Core musicians, Simon Cole.
While silenced for now, our music will return to inspire and elevate, because ‘…after silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music…’ (Aldous Huxley).
On behalf of the Board of the PGSO, it is my privilege to extend our profound gratitude to our community of subscribers, donors, patrons, musicians, and staff for your support, commitment and encouragement. We look forward to seeing you soon. Be safe and well!
