LTFN ACCEPTS ‘RESPECTFUL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT’ PLEDGE FROM THE PRINCE GEORGE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

Lheidli T’enneh First Nation Chief Dolleen Logan today gratefully accepted a ‘Respectful Acknowledgement’ pledge from the Prince George Symphony Orchestra (PGSO). The pledge was given by PGSO Executive Director Ken Hall, during the intermission of a performance of Dvorak’s ‘New World’ Symphony in Vanier Hall. In thanks for the pledge of ‘Respectful Acknowledgement’ the PGSO was presented with a Respectful Acknowledgement plaque to be displayed in PGSO Office.

The Prince George Symphony Orchestra and Judy Russell Presents have teamed up again to continue a decades-long Christmas tradition in the community.  Tchaikovsky’s beloved ballet The Nutcracker has become a bi-annual tradition in the city.  This will be the 18th co-production of the show by the two companies.

PGSO Announces collaboration with indigenous Storyteller and artist

The PGSO has announced an exciting new collaboration as part of their family concert series. The Hummingbird and the Fire is a narrated, multimedia family concert that combines music by Gustav Mahler with a Quechua story about a little hummingbird who tries to put out a forest fire, one beak-full of water at a time.  The story is a wonderful parable for our time, addressing both the dangers of rapid climate change and the seeming impossibility of making large-scale societal change.
