PGSO Pigeon Race Fundraiser
By Ruth Langner - Sunday Jul. 4th, 2010

A sport with a single starting gate and 40 finish lines. An aerial race that involves one of the most amazing creatures and feathered friends of man. That is no other than the Homing Pigeon.
On August 22nd, 2010, a prestigious race will celebrate the beginning of the 40th concert season for the PGSO. It is symbolically relevant, as the race is a true test of endurance and will to survive. Entrants will consist of 40 specially trained pigeons that will be liberated in Jasper, Alberta to begin this Inter-Provincial race. The winning bird is determined by the first bird to return to its loft in Prince George in each of two races. The prize is $1000 for the winner of each race.
There is a buzz in the loft as preparations are underway for this unique event. People are flocking to purchase the rights to their bird and be assured a position on race day. A pigeon is $200, which includes a barbecue at the finish line and the rights to name your racer. To know more, please contact Percival Clutterbuck's Bookies at 250.562.0800.
