
Leanne began playing violin at the age of 4 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Upon moving to Prince George she studied with John Suderman at the Conservatory of Music until the age of 18. She then studied viola and violin with Noel Laporte, then Concertmaster of the Regina Symphony Orchestra in Regina, Saskatchewan, where she also played viola with the RSO. She received her Bachelor of Music in Violin from the University of Victoria in 2002 where she studied with the Lafayette String Quartet and Nancy Mathis DiNovo. Leanne began playing with the Prince George Symphony Orchestra at the age of 14. She has also played with the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra and the Vancouver Island Symphony. Leanne currently teaches violin at the Conservatory of Music and is also Principal Second Violin for the PGSO. Leanne is happy to be playing again in her hometown.
