Calvin Dyck

"I believe we must see ourselves as a team -- in which all of us, each player, each board member and each subscriber is an advocate for the arts and for the orchestra."

Calvin is no stranger to Prince George having played a number of seasons with the PGSO. He has acted as adjudicator for the Prince George Music Festival and performed a number of recitals. Calvin is currently the Director of the Abbotsford Youth Orchestra, an organization he formed 11 years ago and is Co-Director of the Surrey City Orchestra and the Canada West Chamber Orchestra over the past 4 years. He is Concert Master for the Vancouver Island Symphony and plays as an extra for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Vancouver Opera Orchestra.

Calvin was awarded a Doctor of Musical Arts, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with a major in violin performance.  He received a Master of Music also from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Music from Biola University (California).
