Kevin Zakresky

"The Prince George Symphony Orchestra's role in bringing symphonic music of every variety is crucial to the community's cultural life and continued artistic development."

Hailed as one of North America's "rising star conductors" by Vancouver Sun critic David Gordon Duck, Kevin has recently returned to Vancouver and serves as Assistant Conductor of Chor Leoni Men's Choir and also heads its youth initiative MYVoice.   Prince George is Kevin's hometown.    Since leaving in 2000, Kevin has earned a Bachelor of Music from UBC with a concentration in Voice, Conducting and Collaborative Piano.  He went on to receive a Mastser of Music from UBC and a MMA in Choral Conducting from Yale University.  He is currently completing his DMA in Choral Conducting from Yale University.

As a tenor soloist, Kevin has sung with the major orchestras in the Vancouver area and has performed as both singer and pianist with the Prince George Symphony Orchestra which included Mozart's Piano Concerto K. 414, "An Evening of Cole Porter", and last season's "Trial By Jury".  He works as a guest conductor and clinician throughout Canada.  he volunteers with Musicians without Borders and is currently organizing a festival to take place in Bosnia and herzegovina during the summer of 2012.
